The Marie Curie charity supports people living with any terminal illness, and their families, offering expert care, guidance and support to help them get the most from the time they have left.
A key part of their fundraising efforts comes from their gaming offering, including lotteries to raffles, but their gaming website was starting to look a bit dated and wasn’t performing as well as it could.
Marie Curie asked us to redesign and redevelop their online output to create a central hub for their online gaming offering, fully in line with their new proposition – good ways to win.
Making a difference
Every time Good Ways To Win is played, the money goes towards funding Marie Curie Nurses who directly help people living with a terminal illness.
We worked to make sure this message stood out throughout the user journey, capturing support from a broad range of charity supporters and gaming enthusiasts.
The winning combination
With all this in mind, we created a new-look website that gave each game its own strong visual identity. We also used subtle animation and a vibrant design, while adding additional rich content and social elements, to inject both fun and a feel-good factor for helping a good cause.
Our fully responsive redesign gave visitors the motivation to play while also making sure that visitors could play no matter whether they were accessing the site on desktop or on mobile.
Since launching in 2015, we have seen a 60% increase in traffic, including a 9% increase in organic visitors.
